Ladies and Gentlemen,
I write to
gather some information about a Postgraduate Diploma that seems to be
offered by the Middlesex University in cooperation with a German
company named "ROSENBERG Gesellschaft für ganzheitliche
Gesundheit und Bildung gemeinnützige GmbH" *1) (usually
appearing as "Europäische Akademie für Ayurveda"
*2) ).
I am the chairman of the UBAI e.V. (Independent
Professional Association for Ayurveda and Indigenous Medicine) and
would like to provide some independent information for our
members.
We appreciate every contribution to the forthcoming
of ayurvedic medicine and particularly efforts to achieve a
standardisation of the educations.
However, after studying the
strong advertisements *5)*4) appearing these days from Rosenberg,
some questions remain, which I hope can be clarified by the Middlesex
University. Thank you in advance for your official answers.
First,
I read: "Unser seit 8 Jahren erfolgreich angebotenes Studium der
Ayurveda-Medizin ist nun vollumfänglich als Hochschullehrgang
mit Vergabe eines Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) durch die Middlesex
University anerkannt. *4)
In English: "Our study of
Ayurveda-medicine, which has been offered successfully for 8 years,
is now in full extent acknowledged as a University course with the
award of a PG Dip by the Middlesex University. (to be validated until
Oct 2008)".
My question: Is this true? (or will it be true
this month?)
Secondly, about the admitted persons I read:
"Der berufsbegleitende Studiengang ist nicht nur für Ärzte
eine anerkannte postgraduale Weiterbildung. Er bietet auch
Heilpraktikern, Physiotherapeuten und anderen Mitgliedern
nichtärztlicher Gesundheitsberufe die Möglichkeit, einen
Hochschulabschluss - Postgraduate University Diploma (PG Dip) in
Ayurvedic Medicine - zu erlangen."
In English:" .. not
only for physicians.. ..offers even for alternative
practitioners and other members of health professions the opportunity
to attain a university degree (PGDip) in Ayurvedic Medicine".
My
question: Is it true that by completing this German course (9972.-
Euros plus tax plus obligatory food 2460.- plus accomodations) even
a non university-educated person can attain a PGDip? (What are your
admission requirements for this PGDip?)
In
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGDip#England_and_Wales
I read that a postgraduate diploma is a qualification
awarded typically after a bachelor's
degree.
Further, the course is advertised as a Masters
(MSc) study. (“Master
of Science in Ayurveda-Medizin” )
From
*4) in english "As inscribed student of the Middlesex University
the aspirant files a capacious scientific dissertation. For this last
part of the study a presence of three days in London is required."
My
questions:
Is anybody studying this course at the Rosenberg
Institute automaticall inscribed at Middlesex University?
Can
even a person without a university degree (e.g. explicitely a
physiotherapist) possibly attain the degree of a MSc at your
university after only this course?
We are looking forward
to your short-termed answers, as our members begin to ask about the
nature of this offer of the Rosenberg .. GmbH
Thank you
very much
best regards
Ingo

We
hope you would not object to us treating this letter as an open
letter to be eventually published in our internet media.
